We are happy to share that House Weakley from our Private Home Collection has just recently received council approval.
With our clients heading into retirement, and planning on spending more time at home, developing a design response that allowed for a greater variety of living arrangements and experiences in living between indoors and outdoors was a key aspect in the approach to House Weakley.
The clients brief included a reference to cape vernacular architecture as a potential point of departure for the formal and spatial investigation. Simple Intersecting plan forms programmed around public, semi public and private space intersect at the fireplace and order themselves according to their use and orientation creating a clear legibility to the layout and planning.
The public open plan living area flows into the semi private home study for the retiring couple. While the visual connection is maintained the study can closed down and becomes a transfer to the private areas of the house that include a walk in closet and spacious master bathroom bedroom combination. With pockets of protected garden spaces.
